DescriptionCulms decumbent, rooting at basal nodes, or floating, often branched at base; leaf blades short, abruptly pointed or rounded at apex, 3-8 mm broad; panicle ovoid, light green tinged with violet, with capillary, scabrous, often somewhat down- pointing branches, floriferous from close to base; first glume about 1 mm, second 2 mm long, much shorter than spikelet; lemma glabrous, 3-nerved.
