DescriptionCulms up to 1 meter tall, from subterranean runners; leaf blades up to 15 cm long and 1 cm wide, flat, scaberulous; panicle open, nodding, with ascending or spreading, flexuous branches, with spikelets toward ends; spikelets 5—-6-flowered; lemmas with 2 prominent nerves on each side of keel, exclusive of the prominent marginal nerve.
EcologyWet meadows, shallow water.
