DescriptionLoosely tufted, stiff, up to 50 cm tall; leaves flat, up to 5 mm broad; panicle lax, open, with ascending branches; spikelet purplish, about 3 mm long; lemmas with broad scarious tips, very prominently nerved.
EcologyMoist ground. G. striata described from Virginia and the Carolinas, subsp. stricta from Colorado—Wyoming boundary.
