DescriptionTufted; culms erect or decumbent at base, up to 30 cm tall; ligules 1.5-2.3 mm long; leaves flat, 1-1.25 mm wide, scaberulous; panicles with glabrous branches; branches stiffly ascending to reflexed, naked in lower half; spikelets 4-6-flowered, appressed; first glume 1-nerved, subacute, the second 3-nerved; lemma with con- spicuous nerves, abruptly narrowed to subacute apex; palea with glabrous keels; callus hairs present; anthers 0.8-1.2 mm long.
