DescriptionTufted or with short runners; culms up to 1 meter tall; leaf blades thin, flat, villous or pilose on veins above; spike slender, straight or arched; spikelets ap- pressed, subsessile; glumes linear to linear-lanceolate, 3-5-nerved, with awn shorter than bodies or slightly longer; lemma 5-nerved, glabrous or sparsely scabrous in central area, scabrous to long-hirsute near margins, with awn much longer than body.
EcologyWoods, rocky slopes, shores. Described from Yakutat Bay or Nootka Sound, Van- couver Island.
