DescriptionDensely tufted; culms 10-15(—20) cm tall, thick, stiff, curved; cauline sheath - at lower half of culm or close to its base, somewhat inflated; basal leaves numerous, coarse, stiff; involucral scale ovate, acute; scales lanceolate, dark, translucent on margin and tip; anthers 0.7-1 mm long, bristles shiny white.
EcologyPeaty soil.
