DescriptionDensely caespitose, with brownish, old leaves at base; culms longer than leaves, smooth; leaves canaliculate, 1.5-2 mm wide; inflorescence about 2 cm long, com- pressed; spikes with conspicuous staminate flowers at base, pistillate flowers at tip; scales reddish-brown, the lower ones often cuspidate; perigynia oblong-ovate, with beak 1 mm long, concealed by scales; 2 stigmas.
