DescriptionDensely caespitose; culm sharply angled, with old leaves at base; leaves 2—4.5 mm broad, flat, yellowish-green; spikes densely compressed, with staminate flowers at base, pistillate flowers at tip; inflorescence subtended by short, setaceous bract; perigynia crowded, ascending, ovate, with bidentulate beak 1 mm long; 2 stigmas.
EcologyWet meadows. Described from Illinois.
