DescriptionSimilar to C. canescens, but less distinctly caespitose; culms gracile, leaves nar- row, about 1 mm broad; spikes globose, few-flowered, widely separated, lowest spikes with stiff, setaceous bract; perigynia with short but distinct, smooth beak.
EcologyWet, grassy places. Total range very incompletely known, probably throughout northern parts of North America.
