DescriptionPale green, loosely caespitose; culms greatly exceeding leaves; leaves soft, 1.5- 2 mm wide; bract narrow or lacking; spikes 2—4, the apical small, sessile, staminate, the lateral pistillate, globose; scales brownish, with broad hyaline margins; peri- gynia much longer than scales, ellipsoid to fusiform, short-hirsute, with slender, bidentate, hyaline-margined beak.
EcologyDry slopes, woods. Described from New York State.
