DescriptionCaespitose from very short rootstocks; stem terete, with straw-colored sheaths at base; lowest bract as long as, or slightly longer than, inflorescence; perianth segments subequal, lanceolate, acuminate; capsule dark brown, about as long as perianth or longer.
EcologyMoist, gravelly slopes, alpine meadows, snow beds, to about 2,000 meters.
