DescriptionStems 1-4 dm tall, from slender, creeping, tuber-bearing rhizome, mostly with 2-3 slender leaves, the uppermost often exceeding inflorescence; heads spherical, reddish-brown, exceeded by involucral leaf, in open inflorescence; capsule about as long as the lance-acuminate perianth leaves; anthers 6, shorter than filaments; style extremely short.
