DescriptionCaespitose, with short runners; culm stiff, with purplish, lustrous sheaths at base; leaves narrow, channeled, acute; spikes crowded in subglobose glomerule (var. eradiata Hult. ) or clustered at tips of 14 filiform peduncles; bractlets and perianth fimbriate-ciliate; capsule about as long as perlanth.
EcologyDry heaths in mountains and on tundra, in McKinley Park to at least 2,100 meters.
