DescriptionShrub 2-3 meters tall, with dark, glabrous, pruinose twigs; leaves oblanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, acute or obtuse, with margin entire or nearly so, green and thinly pubescent above, densely silvery-pubescent below; catkins sessile, appearing before leaves; bracts brown to blackish, somewhat hairy; capsules on short pedicels, - silver-silky, with style about 1.5 mm long.
EcologyWet meadows, margins of streams. Described from Wallowa County, Oregon.
