DescriptionLeaves ovate or ovate-oblong in outline, pinnate, the lowest pair of pinnae some- what widely separated; pinnae ovate-lanceolate; flowers cup-shaped or campanu- late; petals deciduous, mostly yellow, rarely white; capsule pear-shaped to elliptical, seldom shorter or nearly spherical; stigmatic disk vaulted or flat, the rays sometimes decurrent.
EcologySandy, gravelly soil; to at least 2,600 meters in the St. Elias Range.
