DescriptionStems branched above, from thick caudex, covered with remains of petioles; basal leaves cordate in outline, 3-foliate; leaflets sessile; obovate with cuneate base and 3-5 rounded teeth on each side, spreading, soft-pubescent on both sides; flow- ers 20-30 mm in diameter; bractlets ovate, somewhat acute, as long as the ovate calyx lobes or somewhat shorter; calyx in fruit about double its earlier size; petals large, obcordate, deeply emarginate, clear yellow; style nearly apical, only slightly thicker at base.
EcologyGrassy slopes. Described from the Aleutian Islands (where it almost certainly does not occur). Total range uncertain because of closely related but taxonomically unclear species.
