DescriptionMatted dwarf shrub; branches puberulent; leaves alternate, spreading, linear- oblanceolate, flat above, rounded beneath, glabrous, somewhat erose in margin; flowers single, pedicels short, puberulent; calyx lobes oblong, red, scarious-mar- gined; corolla open, white to pinkish, twice as long as sepals; style short, conical.
EcologyAlpine heaths to at least 2,000 meters. Common along the coast. Type locality not given, presumably Kamchatka.
