DescriptionStem from rhizome with tuber 1-2 c¢m long, up to 6 mm thick in apex; leaves broadly ovate-elliptic to obovate, in whorl at top of stem; stem leaves 1-2, bract- like; corolla pinkish to rose.
EcologyWoods, prairies. Broken line on circumpolar map indicates range of subsp. borealis.
