DescriptionDensely white-lanate; stems from creeping rhizomes with sterile rosettes; basal leaves broad-petiolated, obovate, with few blunt lobes; inflorescence spikelike; low:- er heads long-peduncled; involucral bracts linear or lanceolate, with brown, scarious margin; marginal flowers pistillate, the central bisexual; achenes glabrous.
EcologySeashores. Native in eastern Asia, 1ntroduced in eastern North America and Eu- rope. Described from Kamchatka.
