DescriptionStems simple, from short caudex, densely pubescent above; basal leaves oblong- ovate, oval or spatulate, short-petiolated, entire in margin or dentate, ciliate, bluish- green beneath, glabrous or sparsely pubescent; stem leaves narrower, entire, sessile, more pubescent; heads usually single; involucrum densely pubescent, involucral bracts often purplish, linear to lanceolate; ligules 17-23 mm long, pale yellow; disk flowers pubescent; achenes pubescent.
EcologyDry, stony slopes. Extremely variable in pubescence and leaf form.
