Some specimens belong to var. incana (Gray) Hult. [A. foliosa var. incana Gray; A. Chamissonis subsp. incana (Gray) Maguire; A. incana (Gray) Greene], with silvery-tomentose herbage. Subsp. foliolosa described from “the alluvial flats of the Colorado of the west, particularly near Bear River of the lake Timpanogos™; var. incana described from the “Sierra Valley in deep water, strange to say but true.”
