DescriptionDensely arachnoid-tomentose or villous-tomentose when young; stems from short caudex; basal leaves broadly oblanceolate to ovate, obtuse to somewhat acute, sessile or short-petiolate, entire or irregularly toothed; upper leaves reduced, the uppermost lanceolate; heads large, single to several; involucral bracts lanceolate, purplish; ligules up to 20 mm long, orange, yellow, or with purplish stripes; achenes more or less pubescent.
