DescriptionStem stout, hollow, erect, glabrous, from pale taproot; leaves pinnatifid, with large terminal lobe and acute spreading auricles, glabrous, never spinous; flowers yellow, the outer purple-tinged beneath; outer involucral bracts broadly lanceolate, shorter and more acute than the inner; achenes transversally rugose; pappus white, in 2 rows.
EcologyWaste places; an introduced weed. Occurs also in the Galapagos Islands. Type locality not given.
