Description | Stem creeping in surface of soil, elongate, light-colored; branches erect or ascend- ing, densely branching, cylindrical; leaves uniform, with the free tips usually longer than adnate portion; spikes sessile, at ends of elongate branches. | ||
Ecology | Mountain slopes, from lowlands to alpine zone. L. sabinaefolium described from Canada, var. sitchense from Sitka. Circumpolar map indicates range of entire spe- cies complex. | ||
Taxonomy notes | Similar to L. alpinum, but lacking the row of trowel-shaped leaves characteristic of that species. |
