Description | Up to 30 cm tall; rhizome stout, short, with numerous, persistent, brown, old stipe bases; new stipes stout, darker at base, pilose and slightly scaly at base; lower pinnae shorter than middle pinnae, with white, flattish, septate hairs and few dark glands; indusia with flat, linear-lanceolate or lanceolate filaments. | ||
Ecology | Dry rocks and rocky slopes, mostly on calcareous soil. Described from 40° to 49°N in western North America. |
