Description | About 15 cm tall, with the general appearance of Woodsia alpina; rhizome oblique, fairly thick, dark brown, with thin brown scales and numerous chestnut- brown stipe bases; pinnae in about 15 pairs, sessile or short-petioled; sori at upper part of frond only; indusium orbicular or oblong, attached eccentrically, erose-laciniate, greenish, glabrous. | ||
Taxonomy notes | Known only from the type collection at Atka Island. Related to Chinese and Himalayan species—P. lachenénse (Hook.) Bedd. (Aspidium lachenense Hook.) and P. sinénse Christens.—but without close relatives in America. |
