Description | Rhizome stout, ascending, covered with old stipe bases, terminating in crown of new fronds; stipes short, chaffy, with lustrous red-brown to castaneous scales; frond rigid, coriaceous, evergreen, dark green, with spreading teeth; sori in 2 single or double rows, later becoming confluent mostly on upper part; indusia large, more or less toothed. | ||
Ecology | Rocks and rocky slopes, mostly on calcareous soil. Described from Switzerland and “Virginicus.” |
