Description | Plant rust-colored, at least toward top; stem usually branching at apex, with linear-lanceolate, obtuse, submerged leaves, much longer than internodes; floating leaves, when developed (rarely present in Alaskan specimens) elliptic to obovate, blunt; peduncles not thicker toward apex; spike reddish-brown; fruit ovate, with distinct, bent beak. | ||
