DescriptionLower part creeping, more or less glaucous, biennial or perennial; upper sheaths inflated; upper stem leaf about as long as lower; spike light-colored, with glumes 2 mm long; anthers orange-colored, in age yellowish-white.
EcologyWet soil or, with floating leaves, in ponds (f. natans Wahlenb.).
