Ecology | Alpine and subalpine meadows and thickets. Described from cultivated speci- mens grown from seeds, possibly from Kamchatka. | ||
Taxonomy notes | Common along coast, where subsp. canadensis is lacking. Passes inland into that taxon, probably through introgression; distinction between two taxa somewhat arbitrary there. (See color section.) |
