DescriptionSimilar to subsp. spicatum, but usually taller, with slender culms, finely short- pubescent above, glabrous and strongly furrowed in lower part; panicle usually yellowish-green; florets nearly included within glumes; scarious margin of lemma not reaching apex of glumes.
