DescriptionCaespitose, glaucescent, reddish-tinged; culms robust, geniculate, 2-leaved; leaves 2 mm wide, folded, abruptly contracted at apex; ligules 1.5-2 mm long; panicle contracted, with 2-3 glabrous, ascending branches at lower nodes; spikelets sub- sessile or short-pedicellate; pedicels thickened; spikelets pink to purplish, 4-7- flowered; glumes acute, the first 1-nerved, the second 3-nerved, irregularly den- tate; lemmas entire at apex, somewhat acute, thin, translucent at apex, slightly pilose at base; callus hairs present; anthers 0.8—1 mm long.
