Festuca vivipara | |||
| |||
Family | Gramineae — APG family: Poaceae | ||
Taxonomy notes | Similar to F. brachyphylla but with viviparous spikelets. According to some authors, this represents a distinct species. It seems more probable that it is a viviparous form of F. brachyphylla or F. baffinensis. Circumpolar map gives range of viviparous Festuca of this type, in a broad sense, including F. prolifera (Piper) Fern. var. lasiolépis Fern. (F. rubra var. prolifera Piper). |
