DescriptionAnnual; culms up to 60 cm tall; leaf blades pubescent; panicle lax, drooping; spikelets flat, single or few, at ends of branches; glumes broad, obtuse, the first 2-nerved, the second 5-nerved; lemmas about 10 mm long, very broad, inflated, obtuse, smooth, with broad scarious margin, awnless or nearly so.
