Description | Tufted; culms usually scabrous below spike; leaves flat or inrolled, scabrous or hairy above; spikes pectinate, ovate-oblong, dense; spikelets much compressed, 3— 10-flowered, divergent from rachis, horizontal or ascending; joints of rachis usually 1-2 mm long; glumes ovate-lanceolate, 3-5 mm long, scabrous on keel, with short awn 2-3 mm long; lemmas glabrous or slightly hairy, 57 mm long, with short awn 3—4 mm long; joints of rachilla scaberulous; anthers 4-5 mm long. | ||
