| Description | Glaucous, loosely tufted, with wiry rhizomes; leaves flat, inrolled when dry, prominently ribbed, scabrous or sparsely villous above; spikes stiff; spikelets closely overlapping, 15-20 mm long, 6-10-flowered; glumes 10-12 mm long, 3-6-ribbed, gradually tapering into short awn; lemmas about 10 mm long, firm, glabrous, awn- less or with very short awn; joints of rachilla scaberulous; anthers 3.5—4 mm long. | ||
