Description | Green or glaucous, loosely tufted, with long, creeping rhizomes; sheaths of leaves often hairy; leaves flat, with thin ribs, glabrous or sparsely hairy above; spikes 7-15 cm long, slender; spikelets 10-20 mm long, 3-7-flowered, falling entire at maturity; glumes 7-12 mm long, not rigid, 3-7-ribbed, acute or abruptly awn-pointed; lem- mas 8-11 mm long, glabrous, awnless or with awn up to as long as body; joints of -rachilla scaberulous; anthers 3.5-5.5 mm long. | ||
