Description | Culms grayish-green, densely tufted, with numerous, stramineous-to-brown sheaths at base, lacking a blade and usually with 2 cauline sheaths, the upper with square mouth and blade about 5 mm long; involucral scale about as long as spike; bristles about twice as long as achene. |
