DescriptionCulms from short, creeping rhizome; basal sheaths of leafy shoots brown; leaves recurving; spike with several staminate flowers at tip and few pistillate flowers at base; scales persistent, broad, obtuse, dark, with hyaline margin; perigynia erect, yellowish-brown, with beak 0.3 mm long; 3 stigmas.
EcologyDry ridges in the mountains, to at least 2,000 meters.
