Description | Culms grayish-green, often curved, in row from creeping rhizome; leaves more or less curved, longer than culm; staminate flowers at tip of spike, pistillate flowers at base; scales light brown to brown; perigynia ovoid, dark, nearly nerveless, taper- ing into scabrous beak. | ||
Ecology | Shores, sandy soil; in the St. Elias Range, sterile specimens reach probably to 2,800 meters. Described from the coast of Norway. |
