DescriptionCulms slender, from creeping, thin, scaly, branching, dark-brown rhizome; leaves 1-2 mm broad; 2-8 spikes in inflorescence 1.5-3.5 cm long, gynaecandrous, andro- gynous, or staminate; scales ovate-lanceolate, with green center and whitish margin; perigynia ovate to ovate-lanceolate with narrow, greenish, serrulate margin, taper- ing to long beak.
EcologyWoods, riverbanks, sandy soil. Described from North America.
