Description | Stoloniferous, tufted; culms triangular, glabrous, longer than leaves; leaves flat, light green, abruptly pointed; staminate spikes 2-3, pistillate 2-4 drooping, long- peduncled, usually staminate at tip; lower bracts extending slightly beyond spikes; scales lanceolate, long-accuminate, dark reddish-brown with lighter center, much longer than perigynia; perigynia ovate, 6—8-nerved with short beak. | ||
Ecology | Coastal salt marshes, rarely inland. Described from Faeroe Islands. |
