Description | Densely caespitose, with short runners; culm coarse, curved at top, with pur- plish, bladeless sheaths at base; leaves 3-5 mm broad; upper spikes sessile, with pistillate flowers above, the lateral stipitate, pistillate; scales ovate, dark brown with pale, long, excurrent midvein, as long as perigynia or longer; perigynia dark, ovate, stipitate, nerved, abruptly contracted into short, emarginate beak. | ||
