Description | Caespitose, with short stolons; culms capillary, smooth; leaves involute-filiform, shorter than culm; lowest bract with tubular sheath; inflorescence corymbose; apical spike staminate, lateral 2—4 pistillate, on slender, erect peduncles; scales whitish to pale brown, thin, shorter than perigynia, falling off in age; perigynia elliptical, olivaceous to blackish, with short beak longer than scales; base of style bulbous, thickened. | ||
Ecology | Dry sand or rocky places, preferably on calcareous soil. Described from western Canada. |
