Description | Caespitose; culm obtusely triangular; leaves yellowish-green, about 2 mm broad; lowest bract much longer than inflorescence; apical spike staminate or partly pistil- late, the lateral subglobose, compressed; scales yellowish-brown, obtuse; perigynia yellowish, in age brown, 2-3.5 mm long, not reflexed, with beak one-third as long as body. |
Ecology | Wet, grassy slopes. C. Oederi described from Sylt and Eiderstedt (western Schles- wig), subsp. viridula from Canada. |
