Description | Culms in rows from short, brown rootstocks; stems 5-15 cm tall, with 2-3 leaves and brown or purplish basal sheaths; heads solitary, blackish-brown, hemispherical; bract spathelike, equaling or often extending well beyond head; perianth segments subequal, lanceolate, subulate-tipped; anthers 6, much shorter than filaments; cap- sule oblong-obovate, emarginate or obtuse, about as long as perianth. | ||
