Description | Densely caespitose; leaves acute, canaliculate, pubescent at base, with ‘coarse, pale sheaths having hairs at mouth; stem slender, arching; spike nodding in age, on capillary peduncles; floral bracts long-ciliate; perianth with broad scarious margin; capsule brownish-black, shorter than perianth. | ||
Ecology | Gravel, stony places, in mountains; to about 2,300 meters in the St. Elias Mountains. Circumpolar map indicates range of L. spicata, in broad sense. |
