DescriptionStem simple, glabrous, from slender, creeping rootstock; leaves glabrous; flowers 1-5 on recurved pedicels; perianth rotate, the segments twice as long as stamens; style lacking; the berry red.
EcologyMoist places, mostly in forests.

Alaskan plant belongs to var. brévipes (Baker) Fassett (S. brevipes Baker, S. streptopoides subsp. brevipes Calder & Taylor), doubtfully distinct from the typical plant. S. streptopoides described from Ajan, Sitka; var. brevipes from the Cascade Mountains of Oregon.
