DescriptionStems glandular-pubescent, from stout rootstock; cauline leaves 3-5, glandular- pubescent; flowers 1-3 in axis of foliaceous bracts, sweet-scented; sepals green to purplish, lanceolate, the dorsal long-acuminate, the lateral united almost to apex; petals similar but linear-lanceolate, twisted; lip 2-3 cm long, white with purple veins; capsule ascending, oblong, 2-3 c¢cm long.
EcologyMoist woods. Described from northwest North America.
