DescriptionStem extending beyond leaf, scapose, up to 20 cm tall, usually shorter, from somewhat thickened roots; leaf single (rarely 2), basal, blunt; spike slender, re- motely flowered; flowers greenish-white, lip linear-lanceolate, deflexed; spur slender, curved, about as long as lip; ovary stipitate.
EcologyMossy forests, wet places, to at least 1,000 meters in the Yukon.

Subsp. ohgantha (Turcz.) Hult. [Lyszella obtusata subsp. oligantha (Turcz.) Tolm.; L. oligantha (Turcz.) Nevski] occurs in scattered localities in Eurasia. On the mrcumpolar map the known localities for subsp. oligantha are marked with Crosses.
